Australia has now begun Phase 1b of the Covid-19 vaccination roll-out program. All people living with HIV are eligible to receive the vaccine during this phase.
There is an Covid Vaccine Eligibility declaration form that Phase 1B eligible patients can take with them to any vaccination clinic / hub. HIV positive patients are explicitly included under section 9 on page 5 of this form.
Using this form is preferable to other forms of evidence (copies of referrals, management plans or prescriptions) for many, because the form does not require the patient to disclose the illness that puts them into the eligibility category. They only need to declare that they are eligible as a priority group person.
