SIN have received requests from various parliamentarians to change the time of our proposed rally on the 2nd July from 2pm to 1 pm in order to allow speakers of the House to join us prior to reconvening in parliament for sitting.
Message from SIN, 20 May 2015
As you may already be aware, June 2nd is International Whores Day, and is traditionally a time to celebrate, remember and highlight our continued efforts to improve the lives of sex workers everywhere. As such, you are invited to two events that SIN is very excited about:
Decriminalisation Rally – 1 pm, Tuesday June 2nd – Steps of Parliament House, North Tce
This is an opportunity for sex workers and their allies to publicly show their support for sex workers in South Australia. Decriminalisation is an important and vital step in improving the rights, health and well-being of sex workers in this state. Labelling sex workers as criminals perpetuates stigma and fails to grant the work we do the same entitlements and safety that many others enjoy. We would love you to be there.
International Whores Day Party – 7pm, Friday June 5th – Mad Mouse Alley, Light Square
You are also invited to celebrate with our community at our annual Whores Day party. The theme is ‘80’s’ and should be lots of fun. All past and present sex workers and our supporters are welcome. There will be performances, karaoke, dancing and of course, the awarding of ‘Honorary Whore of the Year’ – who will it be this year?
This invitation is of course extended to anyone you feel may be interested in attending either event, so please circulate amongst your networks.
Please RSVP for the Whores Day party for catering purposes.
