We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic person to join our Schools Education and Support Team based at our Woodville office but working with schools across South Australia.  In this role, you will be responsible for increasing the capacity of principals, teachers and school communities by delivering professional development to teachers in:

  • Teaching it Like it is: Relationships and Sexual Health Curriculum and Education Courses
  • The South Australian Department for Education’s Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum

This role will require you to work as part of a team to:

  • Develop, implement and evaluate best practice approaches to relationships and sexual health issues in schools.
  • Work collaboratively with the Department for Education and other relevant agencies.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate professional education courses for teachers.
  • Develop and evaluate curricula and resources for students from primary, secondary and disability sectors.
  • Actively participate in SHINE SA’s Health Promotion strategies.

To be eligible for this position you must:

  • Have a tertiary qualification in Education and be registered or able to register with the Teachers’ Registration Board of South Australia.
  • Have a current, full driver’s license and be able to undertake intra-state travel

The SAMESH Team Leader leads SAMESH in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the strategic plan and activities of the program. they contribute to the continuous improvement of the Team through the sharing of skills, knowledge and expertise. These responsibilities are undertaken in accordance with VAC objectives and values, within the strategic directions and policies set by the Board, and under the direction of the Director, Health Promotion and Policy.

  1. Migration Project Officer – 2 days per week – Sydney

If you are a bilingual sex worker who can speak, read and write either Thai / Cantonese / Mandarin / Korean and English, Scarlet Alliance needs you for the Migration Project! We are currently recruiting for a Migration Project Officer for the Sydney office, 2 days per week to work alongside the Migration Project Manager.

The Migration Project Officer’s role involves 4 main parts.

1- To support migrant sex workers with migration and legal issues and advice on workplace rights and responsibilities;

2- To support the capacity of state and territory peer educators in delivering services to migrant sex workers;

3- To represent issues for migrant sex workers to a variety of stakeholders with evidence that is informed by regular Migrant Sex Worker Steering Committee meetings;

4- Work in partnership with Empower Thailand to increase the information that is available to sex workers in Thailand on their legal and migration rights and responsibilities.

  1. National Training and Assessment Program Coordinator  – 1 day per week– Sydney

This dynamic and rewarding position is based in Sydney. The Scarlet Alliance National Training and Assessment Program aims to increase the workforce development of, and number of, trained and qualified sex worker peer educators through separate training and assessment packages designed by sex workers to meet the needs of sex worker peer educators. The assessments are a formally recognised, national diploma qualification through a partnership with an external Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

The SANTAP coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the assessment of peer educators, the facilitation of the SANTAP Assessors Network, monitoring and promoting the National Peer Educator Training Online Project, promotion of SANTAP amongst the Scarlet Alliance membership, and liaising between the RTO and Scarlet Alliance.

Six Month 0.5 Project Position at SHine SA – Disability Services

This would suit a person who has had experience in providing sexuality education to individuals living with a disability, or an experienced developmental educator who wishes to gain experience in the sexuality and relationship assessment and education field.

This is part of a larger project aimed at re-generating a flow of referral to SHine SA for assessment and education services and at re-embedding disability service provision within SHine SA’s service profile, ultimately on a fee-for-service basis.
The Project Officer: Disability Services Re-establishment Project, based at Woodville, will be responsible for:
– promoting, planning, delivering and evaluating assessment, education and consultation services free-of-charge to a limited number of people living with a disability their families and support workers;
– drafting two booklets aimed at increasing capacity for informed and consensual participation in clinical sexual health services by people living with a disability;
–  working collaboratively with the Coordinator Disability Worker Education and a Level 2 Nurse in achieving the broader project outcomes (available upon request);
– taking the lead in producing an evaluation report for Community Benefit SA.
The Project Officer will have:
– established networks within the disability sector;
– proven experience in working from a person centred position with a diverse client base of people living with a disability;
– experience in using augmentative tools in effective communication, assessment and education about sexual health issues;
– ability to resolve conflict and to communicate in a respectful and effective manner with families and other professionals.

The Executive Assistant will provide administrative support to the Manager, Education Information & Research Division, preferably on a daily basis, Monday to Friday.  Tasks indicative to this role will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Coordination of Manager’s calendar re meetings and appointments
  • Coordinating Manager’s travel arrangements
  • Drafting of correspondence and other documentation to a high standard, ie spelling, grammatically correct and professionally formatted and presented
  • Minute-taking at specified meetings
  • Provide administrative support to other EIR Division team members from time to time.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong work ethic in attendance at work, punctuality and presentation of work, have solid skills and experience in an administrative role with above average computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, ie Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
