Drug use, chemsex, and supporting marginalised communities

Helping people manage their drug and alcohol use poses a number of unique challenges. This is especially true for people who belong to marginalised communities, from LGBTI people, to refugees, to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
With the ideas of chemsex and a supposed ice epidemic being talked about more and more, it is important to get the facts, and to talk about how to support the people most affected by them.
The Victorian AIDS Council (VAC), in partnership with SAMESH, is proud to host a forum and roundtable discussion featuring Dr Adam Bourne, a top researcher in the use of alcohol and other drugs, and how they affect people in marginalised communities. He will be providing an overview of his research, and will participate in a Q&A about alcohol and other drug issues and the health and wellbeing of affected people.
The forum will kick off at 3:00 pm at SAMESH, located at 57 Hyde Street in the Adelaide CBD. Light refreshments will be served following the event.
